Position Summary:
The OEM Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new OEM partnerships that drive profitable and sustainable growth for Greiner Bio-One BioScience throughout North America.
This highly visible role serves as the commercial leader for OEM, private label, custom manufacturing, and strategic partnership opportunities across the life science, diagnostics, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device markets.
The successful candidate will possess an entrepreneurial mindset with a proven ability to create opportunities where none currently exist and build long-term strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Growth:
Develop and execute the North American OEM growth strategy.
Identify, qualify, and close new OEM, private label, custom manufacturing, and strategic partnership opportunities.
Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities across biotechnology, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, medical device, and life science markets.
Utilize market intelligence, networking, trade shows, referrals, and targeted prospecting to generate new business.
Consistently achieve revenue, profitability, and new customer acquisition targets.
Own OEM revenue, pipeline, forecast accuracy, and annual growth objectives for North America.
Strategic Account & Partnership Management:
Serve as the commercial lead for all OEM and strategic partnership opportunities.
Build relationships with executive, commercial, technical, procurement, manufacturing, and quality stakeholders.
Develop multi-year partnership plans that drive mutual growth and long-term customer retention.
Conduct executive business reviews and strategic planning discussions with key customers.
Evaluate strategic fit and financial viability of new opportunities.
Commercialization & Project Leadership:
Lead opportunities from discovery through quotation, negotiation, contract execution, validation, launch, and ongoing growth.
Drive internal stage-gate processes to ensure timely commercialization of new programs.
Coordinate activities across Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, and Global OEM teams.
Identify and remove barriers that could impact launch timing or customer satisfaction.
Lead commercial negotiations, supply agreements, quality agreements, and long-term partnership contracts.
Technical & Consultative Selling:
Understand customer workflows, applications, and manufacturing requirements to develop customized solutions.
Translate technical requirements into commercially viable business opportunities.
Support product roadmap discussions by communicating market needs and customer feedback.
Provide competitive intelligence and identify emerging market trends.
Internal Leadership:
Lead cross-functional teams through complex customer opportunities without direct authority.
Influence business decisions through customer, market, and competitive insights.
Maintain accurate CRM, pipeline, forecasting, and opportunity reporting.
Support annual operating plans, strategic initiatives, and long-term growth planning.
Partner with global business units to identify opportunities for market expansion and portfolio growth.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business, or related field.
10+ years experience with OEM, private label, contract manufacturing, or custom-engineered solutions.
Proven success identifying and closing new business opportunities.
